How to make your jewelry last longer
Tarnishing is a natural process where metals lose their shine and darken over time. It’s not a defect, it’s chemistry.
What causes tarnishing
Oxygen in the air
Moisture and sweat
Perfume and lotions
Pollution such as sulfur compounds
Natural oils from your skin

Wearing
We want you to show off your jewelry piece with comfort and ease! Most pieces can be worn to sleep, in the shower, or whenever it is convenient for you. To maintain longevity of your jewelry, keep in mind the type of metal/material and follow the cleaning instructions below:
Cleaning metals
Gold filled jewelry is our highest quality metal and will keep its color forever. You do not need extensive cleaning. Rub the metal with a jewelry cloth to give it more shine.
Gold plated jewelry is tarnish resistant but can fade over time, clean with a small dab of regular white toothpaste on a paper towel (or cloth). Rub the metal in the toothpaste with the paper towel and rinse the residue with water.
Stainless steel, glass, resin and acrylic charms and chains are tarnish free. But be gentle with glass charms.
Sterling silver, silver plated, brass, and zinc alloy metals will tarnish and can be cleaned to restore its shine. We like to use regular white toothpaste on a paper towel (or smooth cloth). Rub the metal in the toothpaste with the paper towel and rinse the residue with water.
Copper will patina over time and turn into a rose gold color.

Below is a YouTube video example of cleaning a bracelet with toothpaste. (We did not make this video). The narrator uses his hands but we like to use a sturdy paper tower or cloth. You can also use an old toothbrush:
There are many ways of cleaning different types of metals. For a more thorough look, feel free to read this article by The Spruce that explores using aluminum foil, baking soda, boiling water and more:
